SAIC’s Digital Engineering Hands-On Labs teach systems engineers to consistently create models that deliver richer system insights. Your engineers learn how to build fully defined models using model-based systems engineering (MBSE) approaches and state-of-the-art validation techniques in our highly popular Digital Engineering Validation Tool. Participants gain knowledge and skills for producing models in a structured, rigorous way, resulting in fewer errors and faster, more informed decision-making.

Our practical, targeted instruction does not waste time on academic theory and concepts. It teaches your organization’s systems engineers to execute MBSE in a DE environment using a real-world example system. Since 2019, the worldwide systems modeling and engineering community has downloaded our free Digital Engineering Validation Tool, with its style guide, automated validation rules and customizations, to guide model development with rigor and consistency, including several large-scale Department of Defense and intelligence community programs. Our validation tool improves model completeness, stakeholder utility and review efficiency, but using it for the first time can understandably be intimidating. Our course gives participants a practical introduction to the tool as part of a hands-on digital engineering training experience over four days.

Taught by Experts

Members of the SAIC Engineering Innovation Factory have extensive, real-world MBSE and DE experience from ongoing engagements with government and defense engineering programs. The majority of them are INCOSE CSEPs, and three hold OCSMP Model Builder Advanced certification. They also hold vendor certifications in the tools used in our lab sessions. Our instructors are passionate about helping systems engineers apply MBSE and DE at their organizations to reap time- and cost-reduction benefits and raise product performance.

Hassle-Free Engagements

We conduct our labs at customers’ facilities or at our Engineering Innovation Factory at SAIC's headquarters in Reston, Virginia. We provide all the infrastructure, applications and digital engineering tools for four full days of learning via our cloud-based platform. There are no software licenses or installations to set up, and participants only need their laptops or workstations, a current web browser and a high-speed, broadband Internet connection. You pay a straightforward per-participant cost (inclusive of instructor travel as well as per diems for customer-site engagements).

Continuous Coaching

Following hands-on practice, as your practitioners apply the system modeling process and validation tool to your organization’s projects, the validation rules augment their work via automated enforcement of styles and SysML compliance. The validation tool is like a no-cost, always-there digital mentor for your team, alerting modelers of validation errors, guiding them to model completeness, and helping them develop good modeling habits. Your systems engineering team continues to upskill and become more proficient in MBSE and DE long after our training.
